Rail Service Passenger Survey

The commute's verdict: punctuality lived, crowding, information, and value.

4 questions · 1 page · about 2 minutes to answer · fully editable after you start

Rail satisfaction is measured in minutes and delivered in mornings: punctuality as experienced on YOUR line, crowding at YOUR hour, information when things go wrong, and the season-ticket value question inflation keeps sharpening. This survey reads the passenger reality behind the operator's punctuality statistics.

The distinction between official punctuality and experienced punctuality is the reason to run this at all. A service can hit its regulated targets while a particular line at a particular hour is reliably miserable, because the statistics average across a network and nobody commutes across a network.

The informed-during-disruption score is the loyalty variable operators control even when the trains misbehave. Passengers are markedly more forgiving of a delay explained early than of a shorter one met with silence, and this is the one dimension where investment reliably moves satisfaction without moving a single train. Segment by line and by travel pattern before drawing conclusions; commuters and occasional travellers rate the same service completely differently.
