Phishing Simulation Debrief
After the test: what fooled people, near-click confessions, and blame-free learning.
4 questions · 1 page · about 2 minutes to answer · fully editable after you start
Phishing simulations teach only when the debrief is blame-free: what made the email convincing, the near-click moments confessed safely, and the tell that finally gave it away. This survey collects the learning while protecting the learners – results feed training, not discipline.
Say the blame-free part explicitly, in the invitation and again on the form, and then honour it. One person disciplined over a simulation result ends the usefulness of every future debrief in the organisation, because the near-misses stop being reported and your click rate starts looking flattering for the wrong reason.
The what-almost-got-you answers, anonymised and shared, train colleagues better than any generic awareness module. Real internal examples – the invoice that matched a live project, the sender name one character off a real colleague – carry a specificity no purchased training library can match, and they tell your security team which pretexts actually work against your organisation rather than against the industry average.
