Exit Intercept Survey
Sixty seconds at the door: what they came for, bought, and why or why not.
4 questions · 1 page · about 1 minute to answer · fully editable after you start
Exit intercepts catch decisions while they are still warm: what the shopper came for, what they actually bought, and the reason for the gap. This sixty-second script keeps refusal rates low and data comparable across interviewers and doors.
Brevity is the methodology, not a compromise. Every question added past the first minute raises refusal and skews your sample toward the unhurried and the enthusiastic – exactly the shoppers whose answers you least need.
The came-for-versus-bought delta, collected at volume, is conversion diagnosis money cannot buy from tills alone: the till records what sold, never what someone came in wanting and left without. Log the interviewer, the door, and the hour on every response, because intercept data with no shift metadata cannot separate a stock problem from a staffing one, and those have opposite fixes.
