Product-Market Fit Survey
The Sean Ellis test: how disappointed would users be if you disappeared?
5 questions · 1 page · about 3 minutes to answer · fully editable after you start
The product-market-fit survey made famous by Sean Ellis rests on one question: how would you feel if you could no longer use the product? More than 40% answering very disappointed is the classic fit signal. This template adds the follow-ups that make the number actionable: who feels that way, what they would use instead, and the core benefit in their words.
Send it to people who have experienced the product properly – active in the last two weeks, past the onboarding cliff. Fit among tourists is noise.
